Pilates is a unique movement programme which increases your body awareness and teaches you postural alignment and core stability with strength and conditioning. Pilates takes into consideration any injuries and is highly effective in pain relief and management.

At Integrated Bodywork we have been providing a high level of Pilates Instruction in the inner north since 2002 and we pride ourselves on our expertise. We have strong ties to other local specialists and therapists and will work alongside your primary care provider to optimise your experience with Pilates. We train, study and live Pilates, it’s our passion. We have helped hundreds of people find movement, strength and fitness when all other methods of movement have failed.

Our APPROACH

We customise a workout each week depending on your strength, body condition and goals. The results are increased strength and flexibility and most importantly pain relief.

We guide you through the principles of Pilates, helping you to develop body awareness by rediscovering the full potential of breath, pelvic floor/abdominal strength, spinal articulation and length, shoulder and pelvic stability.

We have put together a specific series of exercises (pre-Pilates) that are designed to break bad habits of movement and posture, whilst offering the body a new movement pattern. We then guide you through more challenging Pilates exercises, including the traditional repertoire. We also incorporate the traditional Pilates equipment into our classes, such as the Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair, Electric chair, Ladder Barrel, Ped-a-pull and Spine Corrector.
